Facebook/Twitter

Listen, I don't hate Facebook. I just happen to like Twitter more. I mean, like way, way, way more.

There are a variety of reasons why. For one thing, and this is a biggy, Facebook is more about pictures and Twitter is more about talking. I much prefer to talk than to have my picture taken.

Plus, Twitter is immediate and Facebook is more long term. I'm always in a hurry. I want things now. Hence, I prefer to have the immediate gratification of talking with people and having real-time interaction, rather than posting pictures (or rants) and waiting for a response. Especially cause then I have to go back and check for a responses.  As anyone who has ever posted a comment on this blog knows, I'm terrible about remembering to go back and check for comments. Terrible.

But I noticed something.

My Twitter friends - my mostly online not in actual real life friends - have, as a majority, basically the same political opinions. And when I say political, I mean as in relating specifically to governmental political issues, not social political issues. I think that makes sense. However, my Facebook friends (a combination of real life friends, old friends from days gone by, and online imaginary friends), seem to hold almost the exact opposite political opinions.

Weird.

Casey Abrams is on Twitter...And So Are Those Other People

I just started thinking about popularity and how it relates to Twitter.

So last night, after American Idol, I went to look at the twitter pages of the top 8.  But what I found out is that the amount of followers an Idol has on Twitter has nothing to do with how many votes they get.

Clearly.

Here's the list of the Top 8 in order of followers:

Scotty McCreery - @SMcCreeryAI10  86,346 Followers
Casey Abrams - @CAbramsAI10 79,792 Followers
Paul McDonald - @PMcDonaldAI10  71,846 Followers
Lauren Alaina - @LAlainaAI10 68,527 Followers
James Durbin - @JDurbinAI10 58,898 Followers
Stefano Langone - @SLangoneAI10 53,300 Followers
Haley Reinhart - @HReinhartAI10   43,222 Followers
Jacob Lusk - @JLuskAI10 32,981 Followers

I also checked my blog stats last night and found out that other than my posts about bats and rabies, the ones with Casey's name in the title got the most page views.  Hence the post title.

Hey....maybe my next blog title should be "Casey Abrams Doesn't Have Rabies."

Creatively Depressive

I've been wondering lately if my husband and I have been together so long now that we just natually suck the energy from each other. Since he's been laid off, he's started painting, which is a great thing. He's feeling really good about the stuff he's creating and he should, because he's a very talented artist. But since I've been back to work, I'm feeling more and more depressed.

I felt so happy, hopeful, rested and calm while I was unemployed. Working every day makes me all stressed and angry. I never want to talk to anyone when I get home and mostly, I just want to sit around all evening, occassionally perusing my Twitter feed for anything interesting and watching TV. No, really. That's all I want to do.

More and more, I just don't feel like I have the mental energy to write any posts, or read any books, or do anything at all productive. If it involves thought on my part. I'm just not up to it.

So I'm just wondering if it's possible that there's only just so much creative energy to share between the two of us and, if that's true, is he using it all up right now?
